MPC were instructed to run a programme of community consultation and engagement in order to increase public support for the “repowering” of a wind farm at St Breock, near Wadebridge, Cornwall.
MPC developed and executed two public exhibitions as well as briefing local media and arranging meetings to discuss the proposals with the local MP, county councillors and nearby town and parish councillors.
MPC worked closely with the Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network (WREN) when promoting the site and the Community Benefit Fund. WREN knew the territory in a way that would have taken an outsider years to learn. MPC's relationship with them demonstrated that our scheme was a good neighbour that sought to work with people locally who had dedicated their time to improving their environment.
The wind farm application for five turbines was unanimously consented by Cornwall Council.
